Tulipomania

Did you know that the passion of the Dutch for tulips gave rise to an economic “bubble” identical to the modern real estate “bubble”? It happened in the 17th century, Holland’s “Golden Age”, and was known as “Tulipomania”.

Alexandre Dumas (father) recounts the adventure of the Botanist Cornélius van Baerle’s quest to create a perfect black tulip. His novel called “The Black Tulip” takes us on a centuries-old journey and continues to delight readers today.
